Usually, it is obtained with only two ingredients : carrot roots and organic sunflower oil.

Thanks to sunflower oil, the oily carrot macerate is rich in:

  • Saturated fatty acid

Along with the roots of the carrot, the following properties are also present:

  • B-carotene

These last two give the skin the appearance of good looks due to the color of the macerate. B-carotene is also renowned for its anti-oxidant action. Triglycerides, on the other hand, have a softening action.

This oil is liquid, clear and slightly cloudy. It is orange in color. Its smell is highly appreciated because its vegetal notes are tangy. It keeps perfectly, in a cool place. Exposure to light should be avoided as this oil can oxidize quickly.

Here is the tutorial we offer:

Step one : clean a few carrots and peel them into thin strips, taking care to keep the skin (rich in benefits).

Step two : lay them out flat and air dry for several hours. The purpose of this is to empty them of the water they contain and prevent them from molding.

Step three : once the slices are dry, put them in a glass jar and cover them with sunflower oil, covering them entirely.

Step four : cover your jar with a lid. Let them macerate for three to four weeks.

Step five : four weeks later, filter your macerate using a classic colander, thus retaining the carrot slices. Ideally, your oily macerate should be poured out and stored in a glass container.

And there you have it, in just a few steps, you can enjoy your homemade oily carrot macerate!

So, are you going to give it a try?
